I can’t believe we’re almost through summer. It’s been a great year so far, and we eagerly look toward fall and the hope of puppies. What an amazing joy they bring. Both the delight of new life as well as the wonderful love & life they give to us and their new owners as they grow and experience new things.
It has also been our amazing pleasure in watching the Icelandic Sheepdog breed come into full recognition with the AKC. To be there that first day, as the first awards were given out, and the first group placements and now championships have been earned. The irony of watching the Icelandic flag flown around the ring fourth of July weekend. What a privilege to be a part of it all. It brings me back to when I was young and still didn’t know how the whole process was done, what the different awards meant, which classes went in what order, and the confusion of counting championship points. We wish the breed continued success though the years, may it continue strong in the USA.
